Asiata carried the ball five times for 28 yards and added a six-yard catch in Sunday's win over the Bears.
EDGE Analysis
The six touches tied a season high for Asiata, who some fantasy owners may kick the tires on given the ankle injury Adrian Peterson is nursing. Anything more than kicking the tires would be a mistake, however. Though Peterson is not hogging the ball like he once was, failing to notch 20 touches three times over the past five weeks after reaching the mark every game since Week 2, he is unlikely to give away too many opportunities. Even if he were to, Jerick McKinnon should be the favorite to take most of them. Over the past five weeks, McKinnon's 26 touches outpace Asiata's 15.

Asiata caught one pass on two targets for nine yards in Sunday's loss to the Packers.
EDGE Analysis
Sunday was Asiata's second game of the season without a carry. While he has caught a pass in seven of 10 contests, he has failed to top 35 total yards in a game or score a touchdown this season. Asiata scored 10 total touchdowns with Adrian Peterson out of the lineup in 2014. There was some hope that he could at least take a series or two per game and a handful of touchdown from the aging Peterson in 2015, but that has not worked out. He is best served in the free agency pool.

Asiata had two carries for eight yards in Sunday's win over Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Asiata played four snaps on offense as he'll have a limited third-down role as long as Adrian Peterson is healthy.

Asiata had one carry for four yards and two receptions for 25 yards in Monday's loss at San Francisco.
EDGE Analysis
Asiata got 12 snaps on offense, which was a mild surprise since he was thought to be relegated to a third-string role. It looks like he could get a few plays a game in the backfield when Adrian Peterson gets a break.

Asiata will sign a one-year contract with the Vikings on Tuesday, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Asiata's deal includes heavy incentives, which would likely kick in if Adrian Peterson plays elsewhere in 2015. Nevertheless, in a backfield tandem with rookie Jerick McKinnon (back) last season, Asiata took 164 carries for 570 yards (3.48 YPC) and nine touchdowns, while hauling in 44 balls for 312 yards (7.09 YPC) and one more score.

Asiata (foot) had 19 carries for a season-high 91 rushing yards and two catches on four catches for 17 receiving yards during Sunday's win over the Bears. While his two-game touchdown streak ended, Asiata had his best game of the season, matching his highest yards per carry average since Week 5 against the Packers. With the uncertainty surrounding Adrian Peterson, Asiata could be brought back for another year, though Jerick McKinnon will likely play the biggest role out of the backfield.

Asiata (foot) is active for Sunday's game against the Bears. Asiata is never going to be a big yardage guy, but he clearly has a nose for the end zone, and the Vikings should be able to move the ball enough to get him some red-zone opportunities against the crumbling Bears rush defense.

Asiata (foot) is probable for Sunday's game against Chicago. With three touchdowns in his last two games, Asiata is one of the better on-paper fantasy backs this week against Chicago's bottom-tier run defense. The Bears give up a lot of points, so Asiata has a good chance to see some red-zone carries.

Asiata (foot) practiced fully Wednesday, the Vikings' official site reports. While Asiata's raw output isn't impressive -- 200 yards on 60 carries, or 3.3 YPC, in the past four games -- he's reached the end zone three times, while reeling in 17 balls (on 19 targets) for 84 yards during that stretch. His goal-line prowess should again please owners Sunday against a Bears defense that has allowed seven scores on the ground to running backs in the last four weeks.

Asiata (foot) had 16 carries for 58 rushing yards and two touchdowns, as well as three catches on four targets for 19 receiving yards during Sunday's loss to the Dolphins. Asiata's touchdowns came on a one-yard run in the first quarter and a five-yard run in the fourth, with his longest run from scrimmage gaining 10 yards. The one target he failed to catch ended up bouncing off his hands and getting intercepted, though there aren't any negative fantasy points for that in most formats. He now has 10 touchdowns (nine rushing, one receiving) on the season, an impressive mark for a player that hasn't reached 75 rushing yards in a single game this season. Up next is a Week 17 matchup against a Bears defense that has been better against the run than the pass this season.
