Johnson is dealing with injuries to his chest, ribs and shoulder following last Thursday's victory over the Saints, Joe Person of The Charlotte Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson took a hard hit from Thomas Davis in the fourth quarter last Thursday and missed the remainder of the game. The specifics surrounding his injuries aren't clear, though, as is any sort of timeline for return. For however long Johnson may be sidelined, both Robert McClain and Zack Sanchez are in line for additional snaps.

Johnson is questionable to return to Thursday's game against the Saints after sustaining a chest injury.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson had recorded three tackles prior to injuring his chest in the fourth quarter of the contest. While the severity of the injury is unknown at this time, Zach Sanchez and Robert McClain could see an increase in playing time the remainder of the way if Johnson cannot return.

Johnson (Achilles) was placed on the Panthers' reserve/NFI list on Monday, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson also began training camp on the active/NFI list after undergoing offseason surgery to repair an Achilles injury suffered last season with the Patriots. Although no timetable was provided for his return, Johnson could theoretically resume playing after the first six weeks of the regular season.

Johnson began training camp on the active/non-football injury list with an Achilles injury.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson suffered the injury last season when he was with the Patriots but did not undergo surgery until this offseason. The cornerback can be removed from the list at any point and rejoin the team on the field. There will be plenty of reps for young Panthers' defensive backs to begin camp with Johnson and fellow corner Bene Benwikere (ankle) both on the sidelines.

Leonard Johnson is listed as the Bucs' starting corner opposite Darrelle Revis on the team's first unofficial depth chart. Johnson is ahead of second-round rookie Johnthan Banks. It could be based on seniority, but there's also a real chance Johnson is viewed in-house as the favorite to man the right corner spot. He's a smallish, slowish, short-armed cover corner, but Johnson is a very willing tackler and packs a punch.

Bucs CB Leonard Johnson was forced from Tampa's Week 16 game against the Rams with an arm injury, and is questionable to return. The undrafted rookie was making his fourth start in five games. Anthony Gaitor and Danny Gorrer are now on at cornerback for the Bucs' league-worst pass defense.

Undrafted rookie Leonard Johnson will start in place of an inactive CB Eric Wright (Achilles) versus the Falcons in Week 12. We're placing the Bucs inactives under Johnson to once again emphasize that matchups don't get any better than the one facing Atlanta's passing attack this week. The rest of Tampa Bay's inactives: RB Michael Smith, S Cody Grimm, LB Najee Goode, C Cody Wallace, WR David Douglas, and DT Matthew Masifilo.
