Britt (hamstring) will start training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The hamstring injury was first reported in early June and is apparently taking a long time to heal. Britt can't really afford to take a cautious approach, as he's part of a deep competition at wide receiver, with outcomes ranging from a starting job to being released before Week 1. The 29-year-old caught two passes in three games with the Patriots last regular season, then served as a healthy scratch throughout the playoffs. With Julian Edelman set to serve a four-game suspension, New England is looking for someone to step up alongside Chris Hogan and Jordan Matthews. The other leading candidates are Phillip Dorsett, Malcolm Mitchell (knee) and Cordarrelle Patterson and Braxton Berrios.

Britt did not participate in mandatory minicamp Wednesday due to an injury suffered Tuesday, Zack Cox of NESN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Britt signed with the Patriots late in 2017 after being waived by the Browns, totaling two catches for 23 yards in the three games he appeared in with Nw England. The veteran wideout has plenty of competition to beat out to not only see playing time, but also to make the 53-man roster. He will sit out at least one practice before returning to the field and the team could release more information on his injury if it continues to linger.

Britt was the receiver "who stood out most" during Tuesday's OTA session, ESPN's Mike Reiss reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 6-foot-3, 223-pounder is looking to get back on track after a rough 2017 campaign in which he was limited to 20 catches for 256 yards and two TDs in 12 games (including nine with the Browns). The 10-year pro is currently flying under the radar in fantasy circles, but Reiss noted that Britt was running well Tuesday and if the 29-year-old can continue to develop a good rapport with QB Tom Brady, there's bounce-back potential here.

With Brandin Cooks having been traded to the Rams, Britt is among the Patriots wideouts who could see an expanded role in 2018, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.
EDGE Analysis
Britt didn't do much in his late-season stint with New England last year, but with a full offseason with the team now on tap, the 6-foot-3, 223-pounder will look to carve out a role behind top returnees Julian Edelman (who is bouncing back from a torn ACL) and Chris Hogan. In any case, with Danny Amendola now in Miami, there will certainly be competition for slotting behind the aforementioned duo. Also in the mix on that front along with Britt are Phillip Dorsett, Malcolm Mitchell (knee) and Cordarrelle Patterson. Plus, the Patriots could add further veteran depth or draft a receiver later this month. As a result, at this stage it's tough to predict Britt's role in the Patriots offense, but as mediocre as he looked with the Browns last season, the 29-year-old did catch 68 passes for 1,002 yards and two TDs for the Rams in 2016.

The Patriots picked up Britt's team option for the 2018 season Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Among the Patriots receivers targeted at least 30 times in 2017, three of them (Danny Amendola, Dion Lewis and Rex Burkhead) will be unrestricted free agents in the near future, so Britt will have an entire offseason to work his way into the good graces of quarterback Tom Brady and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Britt landed in New England in mid-December after a disappointing nine-game run with the Browns, with whom he repaid a four-year investment with 18 catches on 38 targets. For his career, the 29-year-old wideout has averaged 44.3 receiving yards per game while tallying 32 touchdowns in 116 contests.

Britt finished the 2017 regular season with 20 catches on 42 targets for 256 yards and two TDs in 12 games, including nine contests with the Browns and three with the Patriots.
EDGE Analysis
It's been an interesting journey for Britt, who parlayed a strong season with the Rams in 2016 into four-year, $32.5 million free agent contract with the Browns this past offseason. Things never clicked for the 6-foot-3, 223-pound wideout in a Cleveland uniform and he ended up signing a deal with the Patriots (that runs through next season) after being waived by the Browns in December. Set to earn $1,468,750 in 2018, Britt stands to benefit from a full offseason with the Patriots, though he'll still need to climb up a depth chart that will be topped by Brandin Cooks, Chris Hogan and Julian Edelman (knee) before he re-enters the fantasy conversation.

Britt (coach's decision) is inactive for Saturday's divisional-round game versus the Titans.
EDGE Analysis
After joining the Patriots on Dec. 12, Britt played a combined 40 offensive snaps in the final three games of the season. With Chris Hogan healthy again, though, the Patriots don't have a need for the veteran wide receiver in their playoff opener.

Britt did not catch any passes in Sunday's 26-6 win over the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
Britt was targeted twice in the contest, but he has yet to get much going in a New England uniform in his short stint with the team. Looking ahead to the postseason, Britt will continue to profile as a depth option behind fellow wideouts Brandin Cooks, Chris Hogan (shoulder) and Danny Amendola.

Britt, who was on the field for two of 60 snaps on offense in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Steelers, caught his only target in the contest for seven yards.
EDGE Analysis
Britt, who joined the Patriots just last week, quickly got into the team's wideout mix, with Chris Hogan out with a shoulder injury. Once he gets up to speed with the team's playbook, the wideout should see more snaps, but as long as Brandin Cooks, Danny Amendola and Hogan are around, Britt profiles as a depth option for New England.

Britt is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Steelers, WEEI.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Britt gives the Patriots some added wideout depth with Chris Hogan out with a shoulder injury, but we'd like to see the team's recent signee get a full and productive game under his belt before recommending him as a fantasy lineup option.
