Hughes agreed to a deal with the Saints on Saturday, Mike Triplett of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hughes spent four years with the Browns before playing with both them and the Buccaneers last season. He will look to earn a role providing depth at defensive tackle for the Saints. The veteran will be competing against Justin Zimmer, Mitchell Loewen, and Ashaad Mabry for the opportunity.

Hughes was signed by the Buccaneers on Tuesday, Roy Cummings of FanRagSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hughes had previously been demoted from the Bucs' active roster on Saturday in order for Donteea Dye to fill in at wide receiver, but he returns to provide depth on the defensive line after the release of safety Major Wright.

Hughes was released by the Patriots on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Hughes signed with New England on Monday, but was released before what would've been his first game with the team in order to make room on the active roster for the addition of TE Ben Scruggs.

Hughes signed with the Patriots on Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports
EDGE Analysis
The fifth-year lineman was released by the Browns after Week 2. He had spent his entire career in Cleveland up to that point. The Patriots are adding depth to their defensive line with the addition of Hughes.

Hughes was released by the Browns on Wednesday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hughes was a healthy scratch for the Browns' second game of the 2016 season after failing to record a tackle in the Week 1 opener, while his release comes as a bit of a surprise regardless. He was under contract through 2019 after the former third-round pick signed an extension just last year.

Hughes is a healthy scratch Sunday against the Ravens, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hughes will take a seat for the Week 2 matchup despite logging 22 snaps in the Browns' season opener. The veteran was expected to compete for a starting role this season, but he currently sits behind rookie Carl Nassib on the depth chart. Even when the 28-year-old returns to the active roster, he's barely a fringe IDP option, having never tallied more than 34 tackles or three sacks in a single season.

Hughes (personal) rejoined the Browns on Tuesday, the Akron Beacon Journal reports. "I'm back 100 percent now," he stated.
EDGE Analysis
Since Hughes had been absent due to a family matter for over two weeks, the Browns opted to let him watch Tuesday's practice from the sidelines and professed they will ease him back into action. Hughes should be full-tilt before long, though, and should also be able to reclaim his starting defensive role from free-agent acquiree Nick Hayden, especially with Desmond Bryant (pectoral) done for the year.

Hughes has missed the last seven practices with a personal matter, but is nearing a return to the field, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hughes will miss the Browns' preseason opener versus the Packers on Friday, but is aiming for a return to practice at some point next week. Throughout the start of the offseason, Hughes worked as the team's starting defensive end, so look for him to slot back in with the first team once he's resolved his personal matter. He's in no danger of missing week one of the regular season.

Hughes will start at defensive end Sunday against the Raiders with Desmond Bryant (shoulder) inactive.
EDGE Analysis
Hughes has already collected five combined tackles and 1.5 sacks this season, but should see an even higher volume of snaps Sunday afternoon. Xavier Cooper will also be available to provide defensive end depth, but Cleveland brass seemingly felt more comfortable giving the veteran the starting nod.

Hughes has agreed to a four-year, $14.4 million extension with the Browns, NFL.com reports. Hughes managed just 17 tackles last season and only played five games, but apparently Cleveland has seen enough during his three-year stint with the team to pursue an extension. Expect Hughes to receive a more important role in the Browns' defensive front heading into next season.
