Joe McKnight (ankle) is active for Week 7 against the Patriots. Dealing with a high-ankle sprain, McKnight will surprisingly give it a go, but his touches should be extremely limited against the Patriots' stout run defense. With Bilal Powell (shoulder) inactive, Tim Tebow should be in for an uptick in carries, though likely not from running back. Also inactive for the Jets are QB Greg McElroy, WR Clyde Gates, S Eric Smith, G Caleb Schaulderaff, NT Sione Pouha and NT Kenrick Ellis.

Joe McKnight (ankle, questionable) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's game in New England. McKnight is dealing with a high ankle sprain, and we don't expect him to suit up for Week 7. Bilal Powell (shoulder) didn't even make the trip to Foxborough, so he's definitely out for the contest. Jonathan Grimes and Tim Tebow will work behind Shonn Greene. It's a situation to avoid.

Updating a previous item, Joe McKnight (ankle, questionable) is not expected to play in Week 7. The Newark Star-Ledger jumped the gun earlier Friday after McKnight appeared on the practice field. He did not participate, and the NY Daily News confirms that "in all likelihood" McKnight won't be playing against New England. Beat writer Seth Walder expects Jonathan Grimes and Tim Tebow to work into the backfield behind starter Shonn Greene. McKnight has a high ankle sprain.

Jets RB/KR Joe McKnight made a surprising return to the practice field Friday morning. McKnight was expected to miss multiple games, but he's running without a limp on Friday. With Bilal Powell (shoulder) out, McKnight insists he won't miss this week's game with first place on the line in New England.

Joe McKnight (ankle) is not practicing this week. McKnight is out indefinitely after a Monday MRI revealed a high-ankle sprain. With Bilal Powell also out for Week 8, the Jets are left with only UDFA Jonathan Grimes behind Shonn Greene. Although Greene should come crashing back down to earth against the Patriots this week, Grimes isn't worth an emergency flier in even the deepest of leagues.

Joe McKnight's Monday MRI revealed a high ankle sprain. The Jets are getting awfully thin at running back. Bilal Powell (shoulder) and McKnight both threaten to miss multiple games, leaving only UDFA Jonathan Grimes behind Shonn Greene on the depth chart. They'll likely have to sign another tailback this week. McKnight was coming on a bit with 90 yards on 10 carries this season, and he also returned a kickoff for a touchdown in Week 5 against the Texans. He can now be dropped in 10- and 12-team leagues.

Joe McKnight will have an MRI on his ankle Monday. McKnight doesn't believe his injury serious, but the MRI will have the final word. He'll be praying for good news as he's set up for a real role following Bilal Powell's potentially serious shoulder injury. McKnight had three rushes for 71 yards as the change-of-pace back after Powell left on Sunday.

Joe McKnight left Sunday's Week 6 game against Colts with an ankle injury and did not return. McKnight got some chances in the fourth quarter after Bilal Powell left with a shoulder injury. He impressively broke off an explosive 61-yard run up the sideline, but came up gimpy. McKnight finished with three rushes for 71 yards. If his ankle injury isn't serious and Powell's shoulder injury is, McKnight will be Shonn Greene's backup in New England next week.

Jets CB/RB Joe McKnight has been moved back to running back full time. New York's inane experiment lasted all of one week. McKnight actually appeared on defense in Sunday's loss to the 49ers, playing two snaps. He's no longer needed in the secondary following Aaron Berry's signing, however. Even with Shonn Greene continuing to struggle, McKnight is off the fantasy radar at running back.

Joe McKnight sounds discouraged about his move to cornerback. Over the last two seasons, McKnight has averaged 3.21 YPC and fallen behind Bilal Powell on the depth chart. He apparently doesn't realize that he wasn't going to cut it as a running back. "The way I took it as I wasn't good enough to play running back; that's what I took it as," McKnight said. The third-year pro hasn't played cornerback in a game since high school.
