Coach John Fox confirmed Monday that Langford suffered a sprained right ankle in the Bears' loss to the Cowboys on Sunday, ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though the report relays that Langford sported a walking boot in the locker room after the game, his injury is not believed to be long-term. With fellow running back Ka'Deem Carey dealing with a hamstring injury, Jordan Howard is a candidate to see expanded work in Week 4 if Langford ends up out, or limited, this coming Sunday against the Lions.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Langford likely sustained an ankle sprain during Monday's loss at Dallas.
EDGE Analysis
There were initial fears that Langford may have come down with the always debilitating Achilles injury, but a mere ankle sprain should induce a sigh of relief from owners. Of course, the sprain could still be of the high variety, which would be accompanied by a lengthy absence. Langford's ability, or lack thereof, to practice this week will provide insight into his Week 4 viability. If he requires a respite, rookie Jordan Howard would likely handle the bulk of the work out of the Bears' backfield.

Langford left Sunday's game against the Cowboys in the third quarter with an ankle injury.
EDGE Analysis
Langford got another start and played the first two drives, but Jordan Howard took most of the snaps and touches from that point forward, showing once again that Langford's role is tenuous. Last week it was Ka'Deem Carey who split first-half work with Langford, until the third-year pro was knocked out in the second quarter with a hamstring injury. Howard may end up as the Week 4 starter by default, though Langford is considered questionable to rejoin Sunday's game, which could be a sign his ankle injury isn't too serious. Regardless, Langford's brief tenure as the workhorse back is a thing of the past. Howard is the most appealing commodity in the Chicago backfield.

Langford had 11 carries for 28 yards and a touchdown, adding one catch for six yards (two targets) and a lost fumble, in Monday's 29-14 loss to the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
Perhaps more concerning than the shaky stat line, Langford got less first-quarter playing time than Ka'Deem Carey, who had six yards on three touches before exiting with a hamstring injury in the second quarter. While Langford did play most of the snaps the rest of the night, rookie Jordan Howard was also involved, gaining 22 yards on three carries and nine yards on two receptions. Langford did score a one-yard touchdown for a second straight week, but he also lost a fumble in the fourth quarter and managed just 2.5 yards per carry. One week removed from getting 19 of the team's 20 running-back touches in the regular-season opener, Langford is already losing his grip on the featured role. He may even cede the starting job to Carey or Howard for Sunday's game in Dallas.

Langford carried 17 times for 57 yards and a touchdown while catching two passes for an additional 6 yards Sunday against the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
The great news was that Langford was the clear feature-back for the Bears. Aside from the 19 touches he received, the only other running back to touch the ball was Ka'Deem Carey, who only rushed the ball a single time. Even when the team had the ball at the goal line, they left Langford in the game, and he was able to cash in on a short score. Although he only rushed for 3.4 yards per carry, it was against an extremely tough defense, and it appears that he'll continue to be the top running back for the team going forward.

Langford led the Bears with six carries for 17 yards in Saturday's preseason loss to the Chiefs, but wasn't targeted int he passing game.
EDGE Analysis
Chicago's whole starting offensive looked awful, which doesn't bode well for Langford's chances of scoring often when the games start counting. He played the vast majority of the first half with the starters, and appears to be the favorite for first crack at the primary running back job. The 24-year-old earned that role with 18 carries for 79 yards (4.4 YPC) in three preseason games.

Langford (foot) was a full participant at Thursday's practice, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After his left foot was stepped on in last Thursday's preseason tilt, Langford's activity level has been non-existent or limited this week, but his ability to handle the entirety of practice Thursday wipes away any concern about the issue. Expect him to run with the first-team offense Saturday against the Chiefs, which will likely equate to a half of snaps.

Langford (foot) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
During last Thursday's preseason game, Langford's left foot was stepped on. After a donning a walking boot Saturday, he ditched it within a day, yet still missed Tuesday's session due to lingering discomfort. Langford is trending in the right direction for active status in Saturday's exhibition against the Chiefs, but the Bears wouldn't be questioned if they held out their clear lead running back.

Langford (foot) missed practice Tuesday, ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
On the plus side, Langford -- who has been dealing with a sore foot -- was spotted at Sunday's practice minus the walking boot that he sported on his left leg Saturday night. The Bears took Monday off as they prepare for this coming Saturday's preseason tilt against the Chiefs. Langford's status for that contest is unclear at this stage.

Langford is nursing a sore foot, but attended Sunday's practice without the boot he was sporting on Saturday, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is great news for the Bears after Langford had an excellent outing in the team's second preseason game. With his competition for the running back position being unimpressive at best, the second-year player is in excellent position to begin the year as the team's clear lead back.
