Kerley led all San Francisco receivers with seven receptions (11 targets) for a team-high 61 yards in Monday's win over the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
This was about as good of a performance you could expect from Kerley considering he joined the 49ers only two weeks ago. There was potential for a bigger game if Blaine Gabbert didn't overthrow his wide-open receiver in what would have been a 43-yard touchdown. There likely won't be a lot of opportunities for Kerley to score long touchdowns this season, but he does hold value in PPR formats as the slot receiver for a quarterback who likes to throw short passes.

Kerley is listed as the 49ers' starting slot receiver and punt returner, Matt Maiocco of CSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kerley has only been in San Francisco for about a week, having signed on Aug. 28, but he has already made a good impression, catching both of his targets for 18 yards in his only preseason game with the 49ers. With Bruce Ellington on the IR and no one really challenging Kerley for the slot receiver job, he should have a great opportunity to cement himself in San Francisco's offense with Torrey Smith and Quinton Patton on the outsides of the formation.

Kerley debuted with his new team Thursday, catching both passes thrown his way for 18 yards in a preseason win over San Diego.
EDGE Analysis
The 49ers traded for Kerley when Bruce Ellington (ankle) was placed on IR. He fellow slot/return man DeAndrew White are competing for that role heading into Week 1. Kerley had the better day of the two, although 18 yards isn't an overwhelming performance. Torrey Smith and Quinton Patton appear to be the starters, so whichever of Kerley or White comes out as the starter should gain a slight boost in value in PPR and return yardage leagues.

Kerley, who was traded from the Lions to the 49ers on Sunday, will have the opportunity to compete for roles as a punt returner and slot receiver, ESPN's Adam Caplan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kerley had no real shot to land higher than No. 5 on the Detroit depth chart, but he could instantly compete for a slot role on the receiver-needy 49ers. The acquisition may have partially been a response to the hamstring injury recently suffered by fellow Niners wideout Bruce Ellington. None of Ellington, Torrey Smith or Quinton Patton managed to impress this preseason.

The Lions have agreed to trade Kerley to the 49ers for offensive lineman Brandon Thomas, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
EDGE Analysis
After emerging as an odd man out in the Detroit wideout corps, Kerley brings added slot depth and experience to the 49ers' pass-catching unit. While his path to fantasy relevance is not immediate, Kerley -- who caught 16 passes for 152 yards and two TDs for the Jets in 2015 -- should be able to crack San Francisco's 53-man roster.

Kerley tallied a team-high five catches for 36 yards in Friday's 30-17 preseason victory over the Steelers. He also gained 23 yards on his one kickoff return and totaled 10 yards on his one punt return.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran receiver is competing with Andre Roberts for a backup job and took a positive step in that direction with Friday's performance. Kerley totaled only 16 catches last season in a reduced role with the Jets, but may find a greater degree of opportunity on a Lions squad that is looking to replace the departed Calvin Johnson with multiple receivers. Kerley can also make important contributions in the return game, which could be a key to eventually securing him a roster spot.

Kerley has agreed to terms on a contract with the Lions, ESPN's Adam Caplin reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kerley is coming off a season in which a scaled back role resulted in career-lows in catches (16), targets (26) and receiving yards (152). That being said, he's proven to be a capable slot receiver in the past, and given the Lions' need at wide receiver, he could compete for the team's No. 3 job this season, potentially offering for a slight fantasy resurgence.

The Jets will release Kerley, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
EDGE Analysis
On the heels of a 2015 season in which he caught just 16 passes for 152 yards and two TDs for the Jets, Kerley will now look to catch on elsewhere. At the age of 27, he could resurface on the fantasy radar in 2016, though such a potential outcome would hinge on Kerley securing a key slot role in his new team's offense.

Kerley ended the 2015 season with 16 receptions for 152 yards and two touchdowns as a receiver, though he spent the majority of his time as a kick returner.
EDGE Analysis
With the Jets having the ability to create $1.3MM by cutting Kerley in the offseason, as reported by NJ.com, the team could create more cap space to go after potential free agents this offseason. Based on his role in 2015, it would seem probable that Kerley's seen his last game with the team.

Kerley (calf) is active for Saturday's game against the Cowboys.
EDGE Analysis
Kerley will take over as the primary punt returner for the Jets', but he likely won't factor much on the offensive side of the ball unless multiple players in front of him on the depth chart go down with injuries.
