Witten caught eight of nine targets for 58 yards in Monday night's 37-18 win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Witten led the Cowboys in both receptions and targets from quarterback Dak Prescott. With that share of looks, he was able to post his best stat line of the season, even if he didn't score a touchdown. In Week 10, Witten will hope for a similarly strong showing against the Vikings, but their seventh-ranked pass defense could be tough to crack.

Witten caught all four of his targets for 33 yards in Sunday's 37-10 win over the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
Witten wasn't needed much in the passing game as the Cowboys led this contest wire to wire. The veteran tight end remained involved though, helping his tackles maul the Philly defensive front to open holes for Ezekiel Elliott. The un-retired legend continues to be a high-floor, low-ceiling PPR option, averaging 3.7 receptions and 37.6 receiving yards while rarely straying far from those averages. A few more red-zone looks would help boost his fantasy value -- he hasn't hit pay dirt since Week 2 -- heading into a matchup against the Giants in Week 9 following the team's bye.

Witten caught five of seven targets for 57 yards in Sunday's 24-22 loss to the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
The receptions and targets both tied for the team lead on the afternoon, but it was the one Witten couldn't haul in that mattered most -- he was the target of Dak Prescott's two-point conversion attempt in the final minute, but the pass fell short. The five catches and 57 yards were actually season highs for the veteran tight end, and Witten's fantasy ceiling remains limited unless he's able to find the end zone.

Witten caught three of four targets for 29 total yards during Sunday's 34-24 loss to the Packers.
EDGE Analysis
Behind by multiple scores for the bulk of the game, the Cowboys were slinging it Sunday, but Witten did not benefit from that aggression. The veteran tight end saw four targets for the fifth consecutive game. He's provided Dak Prescott with a dependable underneath target, but is no better than fourth on the totem pole in an offense that also likes to pound the ball. Up next is a reeling Jets team that features a middle-of-the-road pass defense.

Witten had four catches (four targets) for 50 yards Sunday, but also lost a fumble in a 12-10 loss to the Saints.
EDGE Analysis
The usually sure-handed Witten had the ball punched out from behind in the second quarter, hurting what was his second consecutive 50-yard performance. The 37-year-old has seen exactly four targets in each game this season, pulling in all but two through four weeks. Witten is unlikely to go off for big yardage days like he used to in his prime, so he requires a trip to the end zone in order to provide a high-end fantasy stat line. Next week's opponent, Green Bay, is tough against the pass and will likely have Blake Martinez shadowing Witten across the middle.

Witten caught three of four targets for 54 yards during Sunday's 31-6 win over the Dolphins.
EDGE Analysis
Witten was used lightly in this one, but he made the most of his looks by finishing second on the team in receiving yards. The veteran's two-game touchdown streak came to an end, but his yardage output more than doubled that from his previous two games. Witten will seemingly never receive a huge target share, but he's capable of making an impact in the red zone and still has the trust of Dak Prescott. He'll next face the Saints on the road next Sunday.

Witten caught all four of his targets for 25 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 31-21 win over Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Witten gave his team its first lead just before halftime when he connected with Dak Prescott for a beautifully-executed two-yard touchdown. He also made an impressive 18-yard catch as he finished fourth on the team in receiving yardage. Witten clearly will not be used heavily on a weekly basis, but he certainly still appears to be a big part of the red zone offense. He'll look to score for the third consecutive game next Sunday at home against the Dolphins.

Witten caught three of four targets for 15 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
The future Hall of Famer celebrated his return from a one-year sabbatical in the broadcast booth by doing what he does best -- namely, scoring against the Giants. Sixteen of Witten's 69 career TDs have come against the Cowboys' NFC East rivals, nearly as many as he has against Washington (nine) and the Eagles (eight) combined. The 37-year-old was on the field for 45 of the team's 68 offensive snaps (66 percent) in Week 1 compared to Blake Jarwin's 27 (40 percent), but they seemed equally involved as targets for Dak Prescott -- a situation that will limit the fantasy ceiling of both tight ends, even in a passing offense that suddenly looks more explosive than ever.

Witten caught his only target for a 10-yard gain during Saturday's 14-10 preseason win over the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
Getting his first taste of preseason action, Witten contributed to his team's impressive opening drive with a reception to set up Tony Pollard's touchdown. He took a seat with the rest of the starters after that point, but it was a nice return to game action for the veteran, who sat out all of last year. Witten could play deeper into the game Saturday against the Texans in an effort that should more closely resemble a regular-season affair.

Witten isn't slated to suit up for Saturday's preseason contest at San Francisco, David Moore of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Cowboys' No. 1 offense will be afforded 8-to-10 snaps in the exhibition opener, but Witten won't be a part of it, delaying his first game action since returning to football from the broadcast booth. His next chance to take the field will be Aug. 17 against the Rams in L.A. as he prepares for a reduced workload from what he experienced during the first portion of his playing career.
