Boykin is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears due to knee and groin injuries, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. Boykin entered the week with a knee injury and suffered a different injury to his groin Thursday, so he is a bit banged up heading into Week 4. Boykin (36) and Davante Adams (34) played nearly the same number of snaps last week, so Adams would be the clear third receiver for the Packers on Sunday if Boykin is unable to go.

Boykin (knee) practiced in full Thursday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. An erroneous report noted Boykin's practice participation Wednesday as limited, but the wideout was actually a full participant, the Packers' official site reports. His injury status aside, he's only had a minimal impact in the passing game this year, hauling in two passes (on seven targets) for 17 yards, which is well shy of rookie receiver Davante Adams (seven catches for 61 yards on 10 targets). Until Boykin garners more attention from Aaron Rodgers, he is best left on the scrap heap.

Boykin's injury could push him farther down the pecking order among receiving options in Green Bay, but his availability for Sunday's game in Chicago should be clear by the end of the week.

Boykin caught one pass for six yards in Sunday's victory over the Jets. Boykin had a markedly quiet game on a day where quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for 346 yards. Meanwhile, fellow reserve receiver Davante Adams made much more of an impact, racking up five receptions for 50 yards. Boykin played well as the Packers' third receiver last season, but Adams has a better pedigree, and it's possible he may have already surpassed Boykin on the depth chart.

Boykin was not targeted during Thursday's season-opening loss to the Packers. The Packers opted to stick Boykin on Richard Sherman's side of the field for nearly the entire game, thus providing better matchups for Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. There's no need to panic here, as the Seahawks are a unique defensive team, both in terms of scheme and talent. Other teams with an elite cornerback would likely move such a player around, rather than leave him on a third receiver all game. Often it will be Boykin with the best matchup for most of the game, as opposed to his more talented counterparts, Nelson and Cobb. With the Packers lacking a proven threat at tight end, Boykin still projects as the third option in an Aaron Rodgers-Mike McCarthy offense. However, it is possible that Davante Adams could push Boykin for playing time before the end of the season.

Boykin has all but locked up the No. 3 wide receiver spot, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. "Clearly, Jarrett Boykin has taken the next step," coach Mike McCarthy said. "I just love the way he plays. He's had an excellent camp. He's physical, his toughness, he's relentless. I think he's exceptional at the top of his route. You see his strength and balance to separate from a DB." Although his output (three catches for 21 yards) doesn't reflect McCarthy's sentiments, Boykin is the frontrunner to line up with Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb in three-wide sets, or the Packers' most prevalent grouping last season. Meanwhile, Boykin's primary competition, Davante Adams -- four receptions for 50 yards this preseason -- has struggled with consistency in his initial NFL camp. Once the regular season rolls around, Boykin is expected to hold more utility than Adams until McCarthy unleashes the rookie, and maybe not even then.

Boykin started Saturday's preseason opener in place of Jordy Nelson, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Ty Dunne reports. The Packers went run-heavy early on, which meant both Boykin and Randall Cobb finished the night with zero targets. Boykin seems to be pretty secure in his role as the third receiver, but rookie second-rounder Davante Adams could perhpas cut into his snaps and/or targets at some point.

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel believes Jarrett Boykin will be "hard to dislodge" from his No. 3 receiver role on the Packers. Assuming he holds off second-round pick Davante Adams -- who struggled with drops during OTAs -- Boykin's outlook is particularly intriguing due to Green Bay's lack of an established pass-catching tight end. He could easily be Aaron Rodgers' No. 3 pass option this year, behind Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. Boykin has a chance to be a steal in re-draft leagues. His ADP is the late-11th round.

Jarrett Boykin has worked as the No. 3 receiver during OTAs. We're expecting second-round rookie Davante Adams to push Boykin, but it won't happen until training camp at the earliest. Boykin deserves some leash after stepping up nicely with a 49-681-3 line last season while pressed into eight starts. However, he'll have to get out of the gate hot to hold off Adams as the talent gap here is significant.

Coach Mike McCarthy continued to fawn over Jarrett Boykin at the NFL Annual Meeting. McCarthy first unloaded praise on Boykin a month ago, signaling the end of James Jones' Packers career. Now he's at it again as Boykin prepares to be Aaron Rodgers' clear-cut No. 3 target behind Jordy Nelson and Randalll Cobb. "I can't say enough about Boykin," McCarthy said Wednesday. "The young man is a heck of a player." He remains an obvious breakout candidate.
