Coach Dennis Allen referred to Jacoby Ford's foot injury as a "matter of pain." That's usually what coaches say when they aren't happy with a player missing practice time. Ford is in a walking boot, but doesn't have any structural damage or swelling. Allen does not know if Ford will be ready for Week 1.

Raiders coach Dennis Allen said Sunday that Jacoby Ford's sprained foot has no structural damage and no swelling. Although it's to the same foot that Ford sprained last season, costing him eight games, all signs point to a less severe injury this time around. Allen still wouldn't rule out the possibility of Ford missing some regular season action.

Jacoby Ford's foot sprain is to the same foot that he sprained last season, costing Ford eight games. It doesn't sound like the latest sprain is as severe, but Ford is in danger of missing regular season action and has been a slow healer in the past. "It looks like Jacoby's going to miss a little bit of time," said coach Dennis Allen, "don't know exactly to what extent yet. We're still seeing where he's at."

Raiders coach Dennis Allen acknowledged Saturday that Jacoby Ford is in danger of missing regular season action due to his foot injury. Allen "doesn't know yet," although the results of Saturday's MRI appear to have been not especially promising. The Raiders haven't been specific when divulging injury information so far under new coach Allen and GM Reggie McKenzie.

Raiders WR Jacoby Ford is undergoing an MRI on his injured foot. Ford was spotted in crutches after Friday's preseason game, so there's a good chance his MRI won't come back with good news. Ford missed eight games in 2011 with a foot injury.

Jacoby Ford suffered a foot injury in Friday night's preseason game and was spotted on crutches in the locker room afterward. Keep in mind Ford missed a bunch of time with a foot injury last year. The Raiders' slot receiver turned in an error-prone preseason opener and followed it up with a potentially serious injury in the second exhibition contest. We should have an update on the extent of Ford's ailment early this week.

Jacoby Ford dropped two balls and a third target was intercepted in the Raiders' preseason opener on Monday. Denarius Moore was inactive, giving Ford a chance to work work as the No. 2 wideout. The interception was the result of a poor decision by Carson Palmer to throw into double coverage. On the first-team's second series, however, Ford dropped back-to-back balls. Moore's starting job is safe when he returns to action.

Coach Dennis Allen confirmed that WR/KR Jacoby Ford (foot), RB Darren McFadden (Lisfranc sprain), and DE Matt Shaughnessy (shoulder) are "near 100 percent." Ford returned for the season finale after missing six games with a mid-foot sprain. The dynamic playmaker will likely enter the 2012 season as the kickoff returner and third receiver behind Darrius Heyward-Bey and Denarius Moore. Shaunnessy missed all but three games last season.

According to Pro Football Focus, Jacoby Ford played just 38.8 percent of offensive snaps when he was healthy and in the lineup last season. Things may change under a new coaching staff, but it was clear in 2011 that Ford was third fantasy option behind Darrius Heyward-Bey and Denarius Moore. Expect Moore to remain the No. 3 receiver, gadget player, and explosive return specialist in 2012. DHB and Moore project as top-30 fantasy receivers at the rate they produced under Carson Palmer last season.

ESPN's Josina Anderson reports that Jacoby Ford (foot) will play Sunday against San Diego barring setbacks in warmups. Ford made it through a full week of practice unscathed, so we suspect he'll be able to get through pre-game warmups in good shape. Ford has missed the Raiders' last six games. He has only 17 catches for 260 yards on the season.
