Yeldon (finger) made his preseason debut in Friday's game against Detroit, rushing eight times for 10 yards with a touchdown. He also caught his lone target for 12 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Yeldon started the game, but didn't have much room to operate, posting a long rush of just four yards. He gave way to Denard Robinson late in the first quarter, but came back into the game when Jacksonville had the ball at the goal line. After getting stuffed on first down, Yeldon was able to jump over the goal line on his second attempt, although he was fortunate that the referees ruled it a score. Meanwhile, Robinson didn't do much on the ground, although he did catch two passes for 29 yards. The rookie Yeldon is expected to see a nice chunk of work this season in Jacksonville's backfield, and it appears he'll also serve as the team's goal line runner.
