While he had a strong performance on the field, the fact that he played in this game while Gerald Hodges and Ray-Ray Armstrong sat out doesn't bode well for his chances to begin the season as a starter. He racked up an IDP-relevant 85 tackles in 12 starts last season, but the team may opt to go with the more athletic platoon of Hodges and Armstrong alongside NaVorro Bowman to open to season.
