Updating an earlier item, free agent Fred Davis (Achilles) has been cleared to resume running and "ramp up his physical activity."
Earlier reports on Davis' current level of physical activity were vague, but he's indeed expected to be "completely healthy" when OTAs begin in May. That strains belief for a player who just reached the four-month barrier in his rehab, but Davis now has a good chance of being 100 percent for training camp. According to the Washington Post, the Redskins remain unlikely to use the franchise tag on Davis for the second consecutive year. They prefer to hold off talks until later in the spring, when they can "better gauge" his health.
