The Saints have released Thomas, NFL.com reports. With Thomas cut loose thanks to the team's salary cap situation and Mark Ingram on track to hit free agency, the Saints figure to have a new-look backfield in 2015. The 30-year-old Thomas was limited to 11 games (and 45 carries for 222 yards and two TDs) last year, but when healthy, he remains an asset as a pass-catcher out of the backfield. After recording 77 catches for New Orleans in 2013, Thomas caught 45 passes for 378 yards and a TD this past season.
