The NFL will apparently not further investigate Elliott's visit to a marijuana dispensary prior to Thursday's preseason game in Seattle, ESPN's Ed Werder reports.
EDGE Analysis
Marijuana is legal in Washington state, so the rookie apparently stopped into a dispensary to look around Wednesday night without making any purchases. Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones said the visit "wasn't good", but Elliott apparently won't receive anything other than a tongue-lashing from his boss over the incident. Given the league's (arguably archaic) stance on pot use and the fact that three of Elliott's teammates are currently suspended for violations of the NFL's drag policy though, he's now likely on their radar for further scrutiny at the very least.

nobody said weed is bad but these players have a set of rules that needs to be followed. the choice is simple, make bank or smoke weed. the league has lightened up on it but not much. i would drop the weed for 10 years of my life to make bank fo sho.

When I was in the military there were a lot of stupid rules that didn't apply to the civilian world, but I knew if I didn't follow them there were consequences. Same here, weed is still not allowed in the NFL so players must refrain or face the consequences. When you make millions of dollars playing a game, it's absolute lunacy to think you'd give it up for a toke of weed.
