The Jets declined the second-year option on Johnson's contract, making him a free agent, ESPN New York's Rich Cimini reports.Johnson underwhelmed in his lone season with the Jets, running for just 663 yards (4.3 YPC) and one touchdown while catching 24 passes for 151 yards and a score. He'll turn 30 in September and is nowhere near the player he used to be, but he ought to find work of some sort if he looks for it. With that said, Johnson's chances of earning much in the way of pay or playing time don't seem good. There's a big surplus of running back talent in both the draft and free agency. Among several other notables, all of DeMarco Murray, Justin Forsett, Ryan Mathews, Roy Helu, Mark Ingram, Knowshon Moreno, Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen are also free agents.
