Stewart (hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday's matchup against the Buccaneers, Bryan Strickland of the Panthers' official site reports.

Stewart hasn't played since suffering the hamstring injury during Week 2's tilt against the 49ers, but he increased his activity in workouts throughout the week and could return to practice next week heading into the team's Week 6 contest versus the Saints. For the time being, however, Fozzy Whittaker and Cameron Artis-Payne will continue to split time out of the backfield with Stewart sidelined.
