St. Louis Rams quarterback Nick Foles signed a multi-year contract extension Friday, according to ESPN.com. Foles' deal is reportedly for two additional years and will pay him $14 million guaranteed through 2017. He was acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles during the offseason in a deal that sent former No. 1 overall pick, quarterback Sam Bradford, to the Eagles. Foles enters his fourth season in the NFL having played 28 games. He is coming off an injury-riddled 2014 season, when he only appeared in eight games and threw 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while dealing with a broken collarbone. Foles threw an impressive 27 touchdowns compared to two interceptions in 13 games during the 2013 season but fell out of favor with Eagles head coach Chip Kelly due to a lack of mobility. Foles' salary puts him in the mid-range for starting quarterbacks.

this is where i get confused. Bradford is a mobile QB? the Rams got the best of that deal by a mile and a 2nd round pick.

Yeah, it was a bizarre deal. That said, Bradford does have the quick release and repetitive mid range accuracy that Kelly likes and needs for his offense. Foles best asset is his deep ball placement and timing routes from traditional 3, 5, and 7 step dropbacks, which aren't a part of Kelly's system.

I suspect both teams are going to "win" this trade, to be honest.
