Smith (Achilles) has passed his physical and will return to practice soon.

The Baltimore Sun adds that Smith, who is thus slated to be officially activated off the Ravens' PUP list in short order, is expected to practice in some capacity as early as Monday. The Ravens' second preseason tilt takes place Saturday against the Colts, after which Smith -- who tore his Achilles last November -- will look to reprove his health and demonstrate that at age 37, and coming back from a serious injury, he can still excel at the NFL level. He has much to prove on that front as Week 1 quickly approaches, but it's too soon to count Smith out, given his toughness and determination.
