Romo's back is making progress, per Monday's MRI, and he remains on track to make his return in Week 8, Jane Slater of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Cowboys reside at 4-1 and have one game left before their bye in Week 7, giving Romo nearly three weeks to get into game shape for a divisional showdown with the Eagles on Oct. 30. In the interim, expect the quarterback to slowly but surely ramp up his conditioning and throwing in anticipation of that date. The Cowboys seem intent on avoiding a quarterback controversy when he's healthy enough to return, despite positive returns from Dak Prescott in Romo's stead, but only time will tell if the prevailing opinion becomes reality.

Looks like they got better without Romo and Dez. Considering they are always up against the cap, dumping those two would really help their cap situation.
