Romo left the Cowboys' Thanksgiving Day game against the Panthers when he landed hard on his left shoulder as the third quarter expired, Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Romo was brought to the ground on a Thomas Davis sack and fell on the same shoulder that he suffered a broken clavicle in Week 2, which sidelined him for three games. With the Cowboys trailing 30-6 at the time of Romo's departure, he won't return to the game, and it seems plausible that he suffered another significant injury. There won't be official word on the exact nature of Romo's injury until he receives X-rays from team trainers, but as he was exiting the field, he seemed to be holding his arm in a manner that suggested he may have sustained another fracture. Romo had been in the midst of a terrible day, completing 11-of-21 passes for 106 yards, no touchdowns, and three interceptions -- two of which were pick-sixes. Matt Cassel came on to replace Romo in the game and would be set to take back the starting job for the Week 13 matchup against Washington if Romo ends up being sidelined.
