Romo (back) is unlikely to return before mid-season, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
EDGE Analysis
Romo played through two broken bones in his back during the 2014 season, which may explain why head coach Jason Garrett has yet to rule his starting quarterback out for Week 1. Despite Garrett's hesitance to do so, every report suggests Romo is facing an extended absence, as his current injury is different from the back issues he dealt with in previous seasons. More specifically, Romo has been diagnosed with a compression fracture of his L1 vertebrae, which typically requires 6-to-10 weeks of recovery, according to ESPN's Todd Archer. With Kellen Moore (broken ankle) already expected to miss most of the season, rookie fourth-round selection Dak Prescott is the favorite to start Week 1 against the Giants. The rookie has been phenomenal through the first three weeks of the preseason, completing 39 of 50 passes for 454 yards and five touchdowns, with another two touchdowns on the ground and no fumbles or interceptions. According to Sirius XM Sports Medical Analyst David J. Chao, Romo will be out for a minimum of six weeks, but he won't need surgery and shouldn't have any long-term complications.

This dude is a joke now. Every hit he takes he breaks something. Seriously just quit football. Your time is done.

The dude is a straight warrior fighting as hard as possible to be on the field with his team. Your disrespect just points you out as classless and immature. If you paid any actual attention to the game you would understand the respect he garners from everyone for his toughness and commitment, but I wouldn't expect anyone behaving like you to understand anything about either of those things.

yea, right. i would rather see him swallow some pride and live out a normal life with his baby girl than end up a cripple for life but i guess you are to classless and immature to understand that there is more to life than football.

He's a cowboy fan. Can tell by his response. I could honestly give two flying f@cks what you think (shook). Thats what's funny about Internet typing. When you assume someone's tone. You had no idea what I was talking about. The dude above me said exactly what I was thinking. Your to fricken old now. You can't play a single game without getting hurt. It's time up give up. Swallow ur fricken pride and be with your family. When he first started getting hurt then yes I would say he's a warrior. Now it's just plain stupidity. Your asking for something worse to happen.
