Prater is expected to sign with the Lions, ESPN's Ed Werder reports. The Broncos surprised many by releasing Prater after he was done serving his four-game suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, but it sounds like the All-Pro kicker will be back under contract shortly. Nothing is official just yet, but Prater reportedly beat out Jay Feely and Connor Barth in a three-way kick-off at the Lions' headquarters Tuesday. Last season, Prater connected on 25 of 26 field goal attempts, including an NFL record 64-yarder, and he is 21-for-27 from beyond 50 yards in his career.
