Parker's (foot) agent said the rookie wideout remains on track to be ready for Week 1, the Miami Herald reports. Parker is now six weeks removed from surgery to replace a screw in his foot, and he's apparently progressing as expected. His doctors don't expect the foot to present a recurring problem, but there's still a decent chance the rookie won't be ready by Week 1. Even if he's able to suit up for the opener, Parker will miss valuable time during training camp and the preseason, which is all the more significant when considering that the Dolphins have ample competition for snaps and targets.

Parker, Stills, Landry, Cameron. That's a pretty good receiving corp. But, I don't see the down the field playmaker. That is the one thing they need. Landry is a short to medium yardage reciever, Cameron is a tight end so obviously he's not down field threat, Parker has some developing to do, and Stills is injury prone and hasn't shown his upside talent yet.

Greg Jennings is not the down field guy but is expected to start. thought parker and stills are speedsters? or am i thinking of someone else as i sip my coffee?

No Jennings also plays for them. You are right. They just don't have a proven down the field threat as of now .

Stills is the Mike Wallace replacement but go routes are low completion % plays. I'm not sure Cameron is an improvement at TE since Clay went off to become one of the highest paid TEs in the NFL. Cameron has never even really had a solid season, he had a fantastic start to a season and then sucked for the final 10 games that year, then followed that up with last year's dud so they may have taken a step back at TE. Landry is the best WR imo. Miami is more west coast/timing which I think sucks for Tanne because with his size and athleticism he should have more freedom like a Big Ben style of offense.

Both Parker & Stills have ability to stretch the field. By the end of the year tho Parker will be that teams #1 WR (and probably show shades of AJ Green)

Tanny seems to be doing quit well in the west coast scheme. I think Jennings is a sound fit for that offense as well. seemed like Tanny struggled to connect with Wallace on the deep routes for whatever reason.

If Lamar miller can have another decent year in the run game, that should open up passing a little bit. But there are some pretty good defenses in that division.

Dolphins have nice defense too. Suh, Odrick, Vernon, Wake, Jenkins, Grimes,Jones.

so you guys dont think Jennings will have many snaps?

Konner88 Wed 7/15/15 1:53 PM

He will definitely be a good mentor for the younger wideouts.

Philbin and Jennings have history so seems natural, but i wouldn't waste a roster spot on him until he shows me that he's not thinking about life after football.

i have him as depth on the bench in a few leagues.

After finishing 2013 strong, I thought he would be the one who excelled under Norv Turner last year in Minnesota, Norv's style seemed to play to his strengths. But he didn't really get going with all the turmoil at QB and when Teddy came in the playcalling became conservative and he seemed to favor Charles Johnson. I wanted Jennings to go to Miami instead of Minnesota when he became a FA out of GB, so curious to see how it turns out.

it didnt help that the Vicks run game was sitting at home.
