Mettenberger has organized workouts in Nashville with teammates, The Tennessean reports. As of this writing, Mettenberger is the Titans starting quarterback, though there's been some speculation of late involving Philip Rivers coming to Tennessee for the second-overall pick. And then there's the chance the Titans make a grab for Marcus Mariota at No. 2 in the draft. According to a report on NFL.com, Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt isn't a fan of Mariotta's style but management relishes the thought of adding a Heisman Trophy winner to a drab and dreary team.

This crummy wire-service didn't think it was relevant to post updates about

- the Titans coaching-staff claiming Metty is a "poor man's Brady"

- Greg Cosell claiming Metty is a better prospect than Winston or Mariota

Whether one agrees with these opinions or not, both stories are more than eyebrow-raising enough to warrant a wire update.

Problem is, if those praises came during the off-season - which I think is highly likely - then they have to be taken with a pinch of salt as all coaches do this. Some franchises receive more media attention than others, then there is the Titans and the amount of press they get.

tbh if you are viewed as "drab and dreary team" then to get one post is lucky.

Personally, I hope they stick with Mettenberger cos I think he can develop into a really good QB. Somehow though I think the Rivers rumours might have some truth to it.

Dynasty leagues are big on FF, and they have year-round interest in football news. Trades in dynasty leagues here go on all off-season. Metty may or may not be the future at QB for his team, so this sort of news is important while dynasty owners try to forecast what NFL teams are planning ahead of the draft.

Roto-wire saw fit to report those stories, which for years is what FF used for its wire-service. But last season FF changed to a new wire-service, and these other guys are just crap. They miss lots of news items and also frequently get statistic reports wrong.

Again, the point isn't whether or not people agree with the opinions (they are definitely controversial). The point is only that they're absolutely newsworthy because of who expressed them, and thus should've made the wire-service here.

Oh and btw, Greg Cosell isn't a Titans coach. He's a film guru that's universally respected around the league. Everyone pays attention to his prospect rankings each off-season.

I hope they try to build around Metty. A receiver and Defense. J. Hunter needs to be more involved.
