McPhee finished with six tackles in his regular-season Bears debut in Sunday's loss to the Packers.

The big-ticket free-agent acquisition didn't have much impact as a pass rusher in this one, as sound play from the Packers' offensive line in addition to the mobility of quarterback Aaron Rodgers prevented the Bears from logging a single sack on the afternoon. That said, McPhee was quite active on the outside, ranking tied for third on the team in tackles while playing a full-time role. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio will make McPhee a centerpiece of his blitz packages in the weeks to come, but the outside linebacker will need to generate sacks in order to justify his massive contract.
