Though the 2014 big-money defensive signings of Jared Allen and Lamarr Houston haven't come close to paying dividends, the Bears' decision to ink McPhee to a five-year, $40 million deal this past March looks to be a wise move through four games. Along with taking on a leadership role in the locker room, McPhee has been the clear standout player on the Bears' defense, collecting 24 stops and two sacks in addition to the interception. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio should continue to devise a variety of blitz packages to maximize McPhee's impact on the opposing passing game.
