Lewis will be the Jaguars' No. 1 tight end Sunday against Carolina with Julius Thomas (hand) officially ruled out.
EDGE Analysis
The Jaguars don't anticipate having Thomas back until Week 4 at the earliest, so Lewis' value will receive a nice boost over the next three games. The former first-round pick has generally underwhelmed, but he's been banged up each of the last two seasons while dealing with inexperience at the quarterback position. With Blake Bortles appearing to take significant strides during the preseason, Lewis may be worth a weekly flyer until Thomas returns.
