Jackson is viewed as the third-down back and will not start over Thomas Rawls if Marshawn Lynch is out Monday because of a hamstring injury, the Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Rawls had promise coming out of training camp, but it was unclear what kind of opportunity he would get behind Jackson. He made the most of it Sunday with Lynch out, rushing for 104 yards and taking the backup job from Jackson, even if Jackson is still listed as the No. 2 running back on the depth chart. Jackson doesn't figure to get many more than the four touches he received last week.

because they want to make sure Rawls is their man to replace the expensive Lynch next year.
