Ivory gained 99 yards on 18 carries and 36 yards on two receptions (three targets) in Thursday's 22-17 loss to the Bills.
EDGE Analysis
Ivory was much more effective than in Sunday's win over the Jaguars, even though he didn't score any touchdowns and lost a fumble that allowed Buffalo to take a 22-3 lead. He barely came off the field after halftime, as Zac Stacy suffered a fractured ankle, leaving Ivory and butterfingered Stevan Ridley as the only active running backs. Ivory could take on some extra passing-down work if Bilal Powell (ankle) isn't ready for Week 11 against the Texans, but there's also some chance the Jets would look for an external replacement. Powell returned to a limited practice the past few days, suggesting he could suit up in Week 11 for the first time since Week 5. Either way, Ivory figures to take advantage of a favorable matchup with the porous Houston defense.

Pretty friendly fantasy schedule the rest of the year for Ivory, except for fantasy super bowl week.

He just needs Mangold to stay healthy. The line falls apart without him. Probably Winters too, now that Colon is out for the year.

He definitely looked like he's got his burst speed back in this game. It kinda came out of nowhere too.

They shoulda ran a bit more throughout the first half. He was gaining yards & the passing game was weak. But good overall game.

He never actually lost it (except against the Pats when his hammy tightened). The previous three weeks without Mangold, the line has been terrible and when Ivory was taking the handoff, he'd just been looking for somewhere to run and seeing zero daylight. So of course he looked slower. No point in sprinting straight into the back of his blockers missing their assignments.

There's been this narrative that the Jets O-line is good this year. Well, they're alright at pass-blocking, but as far as run-blocking goes, Ivory has been having to create for himself most of the weeks he's excelled. Mangold is the only starter on the line with a run-blocking grade above 70 (which isn't even that good) on PFF this year. On Football Outsiders, the line is ranked 28th in the league in Adjusted Line Yards (but 14th in Open Field rank, reflecting how much chunk yardage Ivory is getting on his own when he can actually make it past the line-of-scrimmage).
