Howell (neck) did not practice Sunday, the Indianapolis Star reports. While this injury may be minor, it's worth monitoring because Howell had his season end in late Novermber last year due to a neck injury. Howell is the leading candidate to start at strong safety but faces competition from Sergio Brown, Mike Adams and Colt Anderson.
