Head coach Mike Tomlin said at his Tuesday press conference that Roethlisberger (foot) has not been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Browns, but the team is planning to play without him in Week 10, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roethlisberger said Tuesday morning that he would not rule himself out for this week, but Tomlin said the door for Roethlisberger to play is "just slightly ajar," which does not inspire much confidence about him being ready to play Sunday. Tomlin added that the Steelers are preparing for Landry Jones to start against the Browns, and fantasy owners should do the same, as Roethlisberger's chances of playing in Week 10 appear slim at best.

As long as he insists on making himself a "maybe", he's not eligible yet in my league. As the following says, this is a really good sign.

Ben Roethlisberger (foot) refused to rule himself out for Week 10 against the Browns.

"The bye will come at a good time, but I’m not even going to rule myself out this week," Roethlisberger said. "I’m going to take it one day at a time." Mike Tomlin said the door is "slightly ajar" for Ben to play this week, but the team is preparing as if Landry Jones will start. Ben will almost certainly sit out, but his optimism suggests he has a good chance to return following the Week 11 bye. Nov 10 - 11:31 AM
