Gostkowski has, by his own admission, not been especially sharp this season, en route making nine of 12 field goal attempts and missing two of 21 PAT through seven weeks. Working in his favor, however, is that he works behind a potent offense and is in no danger of losing his job, but when the Patriots' Week 9 bye rolls around, Gostkowski owners will have to weigh the pros and cons of holding on to him that week, which would require rostering two kickers.
