Falcons released DE Chauncey Davis. It's a cost-cutting move. Davis is still only 28, but was due $3 million and the Falcons are banking on Lawrence Sidbury to take the next step as a No. 4 end. It will be interesting to see if they also keep seventh-round pick Cliff Matthews, who flashed in camp. Davis will resurface within the next two weeks.
