Dorsey (biceps) is a candidate to replaced the retired Justin Smith at right defensive end, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Dorsey, the fifth overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, was largely a disappointment during his five years with the Chiefs. He turned in a solid season as the 49ers' nose tackle in 2013, but then missed all of 2014 due to a torn biceps. Dorsey said he isn't quite fully recovered, but it sounds as if he should be ready for training camp. While the 49ers are without former mainstays Smith and Ray McDonald, they still have plenty of intriguing names along the defensive line, highlighted by Darnell Dockett and 2015 first-round draft pick Arik Armstead. Starter or not, Dorsey won't merit IDP consideration.
