Boldin is visiting the Redskins on Tuesday, Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
There hasn't been much news regarding the 35-year-old Boldin, who did most of his damage out of the slot last season. Washington doesn't seem like a good fit, given that Jamison Crowder had an effective rookie season while working almost exclusively from the slot. Boldin does have plenty of experience playing on the outside, but Washington also has DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon on the roster. Shaky as the fit may seem, Boldin doesn't seem to be drawing much interest and may have to settle for a sub-optimal situation.
he is old. lost a few steps. still strong and can produce but who wants to invest real money in a real old player? WR's grow on trees these days. someone will offer up vet minimum just for the depth.

He'll come at a fraction of Garcon's cost and I don't know if there's a huge difference in their abilities.
Garcon has a $10m cap hit (spotrac.com)

Garcon is younger and stronger. Skins have made no effort to move any of the WR's or to restructure their contracts. i dont see the rumors going far.
the Skins GM has taken a look at all his older ex-players (SF and Seattle) that are on FA. signed none of them.
