Archer was signed to a reserve-future deal by the Jets on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The speedy scat back out of Kent State was released by the Steelers in November to clear room for the addition of kick returner Jacoby Jones. Archer possesses blazing speed, but his deficiencies in other areas prevented him from seeing any touches on the offensive side of the ball this season. He was serviceable in the return game through eight games with the Steelers in 2015, averaging 25.3 yards on 14 kick returns. With three established running backs already on the roster, Archer's clearest path to a roster spot is likely as a special teamer.
