Anderson signed a two-year contract extension with the Panthers on Wednesday, Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Anderson was headed for free agency in the 2016 offseason, but proved sufficiently serviceable in securing two victories against the Buccaneers last year to prompt the Panthers to once again retain him as veteran insurance. The 32-year-old enters his fifth season overall backing up Cam Newton, and is expected to only be called upon in case of injury to the team's franchise quarterback. Terms of the extension were not disclosed, but Jones reports that Anderson was set to earn $1.175 million in 2015 under the terms of his previous contract.
