Against the Odds - Week 6 (Thursday Edition) fantasysharks.com Thu 10/11/12 9:06 AM

This week's lines are from USAToday.com (as of Wednesday night). Pittsburgh @ Tennessee (+6) The Steelers (2-2) squeaked out a win last week over the Philadelphia Eagles 16-14. The run game seems to have turned around with the return of RB Rashard Mendenhall who made his debut this season after tearing his ACL last year. He rushed for 81 yards and a TD on 14 carries. The Titans (1-4) were blown out at Minnesota last week, 30-7. Backup QB Matt Hasselbeck started due to Jake Locker re-injuring his shoulder Week 4 in Houston. Hasselbeck threw for 200 yards and one TD while also throwing a pick. RB Chris Johnson had another bad outing, rushing 15 times for 24 yards. In the Titans' four losses this season, they have been outscored 140-44. Their defense is ranked last in points allowed (36.2) and ranks near the bottom in all other defensive categories. The offense isn't much better, they rank 26th in total yards per game (305), and 30th in rush yards per game (65.4). The Steelers defense should be able to shutdown the Titans. They rank 5th in total yards allowed per game (280) and are holding opposing QBs to 185 yards per game (3rd in the league). Mendenhall's return will rejuvenate the Steelers offense while the defense will shutdown RB Chris Johnson and the pass game. Expect to see another blowout loss by the Titans. Gimme the Steelers minus the points. Please make sure to check back Friday for my 4-Star picks and my take on the rest of the NFL schedule.
