According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Vikings RB Lex Hilliard is "tightening his grip" on the No. 3 job. Hilliard is a 28-year-old journeyman who doesn't offer a ton at tailback, but is versatile enough to chip in at fullback and on special teams. He currently holds the edge on Jordan Todman, who is dealing with a sprained ankle. With Adrian Peterson clear of the active/PUP list, Hillard won't see many offensive snaps this season.
