According to Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Robinson (leg) is the leader for the Saints' starting cornerback position opposite Keenan Lewis. With Champ Bailey sitting out the Saints preseason opener, said Holder about the starting spot, "[t]here's no question at this point that it's Patrick Robinson's job to lose." Though Robinson missed all of 2013 with a knee injury, he had a breakout fantasy year in 2012, compiling 63 tackles, 18 pass defenses and three interceptions for the Saints as a starter. Robinson's pre-injury production, however, was likely the result of opposing quarterbacks continuously targeted him in coverage, providing him ample opportunity to post career-highs in both tackles and passes defended. If Robinson does indeed win the starting job this year, it's not unreasonable to expect big numbers again, as teams will most likely target the shaky corner rather than attack the well-regarded Lewis.
