Quin underwent surgery this offseason to clean out bone chips in his ankle but expects to be ready for the start of the Lions' offseason program, the Detroit Free Press reports. "I did my surgery, my ankle didn't swell very much," he said. "I was back a lot earlier just from my standpoint than I was last time. Obviously, we'll see what the trainers say and allow me to do when I get back, but it feels a lot better this year than it felt in 2014 when I had it done the first time."
EDGE Analysis
Speaking of "last time," Quin had ligaments repaired in the same ankle after the 2013 season and proceeded to miss the majority of spring workouts during that offseason. Because the procedure was less intrusive this time around, he's confident that the Lions' training staff will clear the cornerback to take part in the initial voluntary workouts next week. Once the fall rolls around, he'll be looking to repeat his 2014 campaign in which he led the NFL with seven interceptions and earned the sole Pro Bowl bid of his career.

Quin recoreded an interception and pass defensed in Sunday's win over the Bears.
EDGE Analysis
The pick was Quin's fourth of the season, tying him for 13th in the league. Quin topped the NFL in interceptions in 2014 with seven and started 2015 on a hot pace with two picks in his first three games. He cooled off considerably after that, failing to record an interception in eight straight games before nabbing two more in the season's final five contests.

Quin (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
Following limited sessions Wednesday and Thursday, Quin was a non-participant at Friday's practice. His blog on the team website suggests that he still expects to suit up, but if not, his snaps would likely go to Don Carey and/or James Ihedigbo

Quin recorded two tackles, an interception and a pass defensed in Sunday's loss to Denver.
EDGE Analysis
Quin made a diving basket catch on a deflected pass that snuffed out a Broncos march toward the end zone. The 2014 NFL interceptions leader is now tied atop the league lead this season with two. Quin has assumed a leadership role in Detroit and appears set to remain in a center-field role, freeing him up to make breaks on the ball. Expect him to be in the thick of this year's interception race.

Quin tallied eight tackles, defended a pass and returned an interception for a touchdown in Sunday's 33-28 loss to the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
After leading the league in interceptions in 2014, Quin picked up where he left off, snatching a deflected pass and racing 31 yards for the score. Opposing offenses may start shading away from Quin, but his nose for the ball and role in defensive coordinator Teryl Austin's attack should mean that he'll continue to be in the middle of the action.

Lions FS Glover Quin (ankle) has been limited at the onset of OTAs. Quin underwent a "small procedure" to relieve the pain in his ankle after the season ended. He'll be all systems go for minicamp and training camp later this summer. In the Lions' new defense, Quin is expected to play an Ed Reed-type deep safety role. He'll be more of a center fielder than he was last season.

Glover Quin will play the Ed Reed role in DC Teryl Austin's scheme. Austin was Reed's position coach in Baltimore in 2011 and 2012. Quin will no longer play sides like he did under Gunther Cunningham, instead dropping to the deeper part of the field and reading the quarterback. It's a free safety position built for players with a nose for the ball, something Quin has shown during his five-year career. He's recorded 57 pass breakups, eight interceptions and four forced fumbles.
