Cowboys agreed to terms with SS Gerald Sensabaugh on a five-year, $22.5 million contract extension. Sensabaugh, 28, played this season on a one-year, $2.5 million contract. He has started all 12 games, racking up a pair of interceptions and two forced fumbles to go with 60 tackles (50 solo). Sensabaugh is unlikely to last through the end of the deal, so it's probably a bit back loaded. Pro Football Focus has graded Sensabaugh as a top-ten safety in the league this season, performing effectively in both coverage and run support.

Cowboys FS Gerald Sensabaugh said his sprained foot hurt the entire game against the Dolphins on Thursday. "It's on the back on the ball of my foot," Sensabaugh said. "Any time I tried to put pressure on it, it hurt." The good news is that Sensabaugh now has 10 days to rest and recuperate after gutting it out in the Week 12 victory.

Cowboys SS Gerald Sensabaugh (foot) is active for Thursday's game against the Dolphins. Sensabaugh continues to live up to his reputation of playing through minor injuries. CB Mike Jenkins (hamstring) and WR Miles Austin (hamstring) are both inactive, as expected. The rest of the Cowboys inactives: QB Jon Kitna, FB Tony Fiammetta, G Daniel Loper, D David Arkin and DE Clifton Geathers.

Cowboys SS Gerald Sensabaugh was seen walking through the team's facility on Monday with a walking boot on his right foot. "Gerald has a history of playing being able to play through some different injuries, so hopefully he can do that again," said coach Jason Garrett, and Sensabaugh said he plans on playing in Thursday's game against Miami. Barry Church would step in if Sensabaugh cannot go and would be a major liability in the secondary.

Cowboys re-signed SS Gerald Sensabaugh to a one-year, $2.5 million contract. Sensabaugh was left without a dance partner after the Texans opted for Danieal Manning. Similar to Manny Lawson and Stephen Tulloch, he's signing a one-year deal for another shot at free agency in 2012. It's not a bad idea, as he should have the opportunity for more big plays in Rob Ryan's defense. The Cowboys are still expected to add a free safety opposite Sensabaugh.

Free agent SS Gerald Sensabaugh says he could "definitely" envision himself playing for the Texans. "Wade (Phillips) is a good guy, I already know his system and it would be an easy transition for me," said Sensabaugh. "I wouldn't have to learn anything new." Sensabaugh says his preference is to stay with Dallas, "but at the end of the day it's a business thing." The versatile, 28-year-old safety has made it clear all offseason: he'll sign with the highest bidder.

Free agent SS Gerald Sensabaugh reiterated that he plans on testing the market. The Cowboys are on the record saying they want to bring Sensabaugh back at a sensible price. "To be honest, I have no clue what that means," Sensabaugh said. "I tried to give them every opportunity to (re-sign) me that I could (before the lockout)." At this point, Sensabaugh appears more likely to walk than be back in Dallas.

The Cowboys would like to retain free agent SS Gerald Sensabaugh, but only at a "sensible" price. The free agent safety market is extremely deep, so that factor could help temper Sensabaugh's asking price some. He's not likely to receive as much high-dollar interest as Eric Weddle, Michael Huff, Dashon Goldson, Quintin Mikell, Danieal Manning, or Donte Whitner. ESPN Dallas' Todd Archer suggests Abram Elam as a potential fall-back plan if Sensabaugh doesn't re-up.
