Elliott logged 22 of a possible 55 snaps on offense in Sunday's 38-3 loss to the Cowboys, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
In the process, Elliott carried six times for 16 yards and caught two of his three targets for six yards. There had been some pregame speculation from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network that Elliott (who carried 16 times for 80 yards in Week 3) could be in line to see an expanded workload Sunday against his former team, but fellow RB Rhamondre Stevenson started the contest and was on the field for 35 snaps en route to rushing 14 times for 30 yards while adding two receptions (on three targets) for 10 yards. Looking ahead, the Patriots offense will look to regroup Week 5 against the Saints, but as long as Elliott continues to work behind Stevenson, he'll remain a hit-or-miss fantasy option.

Elliott is expected to see an increased role in the Patriots' backfield Sunday against the Cowboys, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
In the Patriots' Week 3 win over the Jets, Elliott logged 27 snaps and 16 carries for 80 yards, while Rhamondre Stevenson recorded 47 snaps and 19 carries for 59 yards. This time around, Rapoport suggests that Elliott could log "starter reps" versus his former team, though it's unclear if that means he'll take New England's first RB snap or if he'll simply be in line to see an uptick in touches in Week 4.

Elliott rushed 16 times for 80 yards and caught his only target for seven yards in Sunday's 15-10 win over the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
After rushing just 12 times for 42 yards across his first two games with the Patriots, Elliott topped both of those marks as New England went run-heavy in a defensive battle. He had three fewer carries than Rhamondre Stevenson but 21 more yards on the ground. Elliott will have plenty of motivation in Week 4 when the Patriots travel to Dallas to face his former team, but he'll likely remain limited to a complementary role behind Stevenson.

Elliott was on the field for 22 of 74 snaps on offense in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Dolphins en route to carrying five times for 13 yards, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Elliott, who wasn't targeted in the passing game in Sunday's contest, worked behind Rhamondre Stevenson (54 snaps), who carried 15 times for 50 yards and a TD while catching all three of his targets for 10 yards. Though there figures to be weeks where game planning and/or game flow will allow for Elliott to be more involved, he'll remain a hit-or-miss fantasy option as long as Stevenson is healthy and available.

Elliott rushed the ball seven times for 29 yards and lost a fumble in Sunday's 25-20 loss to the Eagles. He added five receptions on seven targets for 14 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Elliott entered the game on the Patriots' first offensive possession and maintained a significant role even after losing a fumble on the team's second drive. Rhamondre Stevenson still led the backfield with 18 total touches, though Elliott was the more effective back on the ground. The exact split in workload remains unclear moving forward, though it appears clear that Elliott will maintain a significant role.

During Tuesday's practice, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com relays that Elliott saw an uptick in work behind Rhamondre Stevenson, notably as a pass-catcher out of the team's backfield.
EDGE Analysis
Elliott was brought in by the Patriots to work in a complementary role behind Stevenson, the team's presumed lead back. In addition to providing New England with another short-yardage option, it looks like Elliott could factor in on passing downs as well. Though Elliott caught just 17 passes in 15 games with the Cowboys last season, he recorded 47 catches in 2021, and if given the opportunity in New England, he could see an uptick in that area, while taking some of the burden off Stevenson, who caught 69 passes in 17 contests in 2022, on top of logging 210 carries in tandem with Damien Harris (106 carries in 11 games), who now plays for the Bills.

Elliott was a full participant in team drills during Thursday's practice, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per Lazar, Elliott looked like his old self Thursday, making his mark with impressive TD runs (from eight and two yards out) in red-zone drills. Though Elliott is projected to work behind returning lead back Rhamondre Stevenson this coming season, the former Cowboy figures to see his share of snaps and touches out of the Patriots backfield, where his ability in pass protection and in short-yardage situations should be welcome additions to the team's ground game.

Elliott's one-year agreement with the Patriots, which includes a $3 million base salary and a $1 million signing bonus, can be worth up to $6 million factoring in incentives, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After spending the first seven years of his career with the Cowboys, Elliott provides his new team with an experienced complementary option to work behind returning lead back Rhamondre Stevenson. Though the presence of Stevenson figures to cap Elliott's weekly workload, the 28-year-old could see enough early-down and short-yardage touches to merit fantasy attention in deeper formats. Meanwhile, the addition of the veteran back leaves Ty Montgomery (leg), Pierre Strong (undisclosed), Kevin Harris and J.J. Taylor to compete for depth/change-of-pace slotting in New England's backfield.

The Patriots are expected to sign Elliott on Monday to a one-year deal worth up to $6 million, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Elliott was released by the Cowboys on March 15 and has been entertaining offers since, but it looks like the veteran running back has finally found a new home. The 28-year-old is coming off the least productive season of his career from a yardage standpoint and found himself as a secondary option behind Tony Pollard to end 2022, but he did record 12 rushing touchdowns, marking the fourth time he's reached double digits in his seven-year career. In New England, Elliott will presumably still be a backup, as Rhamondre Stevenson has established himself as the team's No. 1, but he'll have a chance to carve out a complementary gig ahead of players like Ty Montgomery (leg), Pierre Strong (undisclosed) and Kevin Harris.

Elliott was brought in for a visit by the Patriots on Saturday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Elliott has been looking for a new team to sign with since he was released by the Cowboys on March 15. The 28-year-old is coming off the least productive campaign of his seven-year career, tallying career lows in rushing yards (876), yards per carry (3.8), receptions, (17) and receiving yards (92). Yet, the 228-pound back did still prove valuable as a pass blocker and in short-yardage rushing situations while serving as a secondary running back behind Tony Pollard in 2022. Elliott could serve a similar depth role with New England, as the team does not have a proven running back behind burgeoning starter Rhamondre Stevenson. However, Elliott's certainly not guaranteed to land with the team, as the Patriots have also been linked to fellow free-agent running back Dalvin Cook, and the team previously brought in Leonard Fournette and Darrell Henderson for similar visits.
