Corey Liuget Placed On IR, Chargers Defense Still A Good Start rotoballer.com Sat 11/24/18 11:30 PM

Los Angeles Chargers defensive tackle Corey Liuget was officially placed on injured reserve after he underwent surgery to repair his torn quad tendon this week. Liuget was considered one of the key pieces in the resurgence of the LA defense, but his loss probably won't be too huge a blow this week. The Chargers are facing a Cardinals offense that is last in the league in yards and next to last in points. Though Arizona's defense has been pretty impressive, their offense has been a complete mess.[...]

Los Angeles Chargers defensive tackle Corey Liuget took it to rookie Baker Mayfield last week, and he'll be licking his chops for the chance to tee off on Marcus Mariota in London. Mariota was sacked 11 times last week, and Tennessee head coach Mike Vrabel expressed to reporters that LA's pass rush is a scary even without their No. 1 defensive player. [...]

The Los Angeles Chargers will welcome back defensive tackle Corey Liuget from his four-game suspension this week. Liuget was suspended for violating the league's substance abuse policy, but he has sued his former trainer. Liuget will return to a defensive line rotation that is in desperate need of someone who can pressure the quarterback and help out the secondary. So far, LA is tied for 22nd in the league with just eight sacks, mostly because Joey Bosa has been out. [...]

Denzel Perryman, Corey Liuget Ruled Out Against Jets rotoballer.com Fri 12/22/17 4:10 PM

This article references and more! Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman (hamstring) and defensive tackle Corey Liuget (knee) have both been ruled out for Week 16 against the Jets. Perryman is the bigger loss for the Chargers defense, and he could be forced to sit out in Week 17, too. Both Perryman and Liuget being out is an upgrade for New York's rushing attack, but you'd have to be desperate in fantasy to start any one of Matt Forte, Bilal Powell or Elijah McGuire.Keep on reading: Denzel Perryman, Corey Liuget Ruled Out Against Jets

IDP Rankings - Wild Card Round fantasysharks.com Thu 1/2/14 8:00 AM

The NFL regular season may have ended (and the fantasy football season along with it), but that doesn't mean it's time for fantasy football enthusiasts to pack it in for the year. As 2014 begins, many will be taking part in fantasy football playoff leagues, taking one last shot at fantasy glory before they start getting ready for 2014. Most of those leagues are "survivor"-type affairs. The entire pool of players are available, but you can only use each player once. That means that as important as it is to find players who will put up a solid score, it's equally crucial that you take into account how you expect the postseason to play out. Otherwise, by the time the conference championships and Super Bowl roll around there won't be any players to choose from. So, with that in mind and with an admittedly shallow group available along the defensive line, here's a look at the top-10 players at each of the "main" Individual Defensive Player (IDP) positions for the Wild Card Round in Fantasy Sharks Default IDP Scoring . 10 Early IDP Sleepers You Need to Know for 2013 fantasysharks.com Wed 1/9/13 5:00 AM

As the 2012 NFL playoffs get underway and four teams advance on to the divisional round, the savvy fantasy owner have already turned their attention to the 2013 season. Taking careful notice of players that may be able to help take their fantasy teams to the championship and finding excellent sleeper candidates is a year-round task. They will often turn late-season opportunities for playing time into a chance to move up the depth chart for the following season or at least the chance to garner more snaps. The Individual Defensive Player (IDP) side of fantasy football tends fluctuate more from year to year than the offensive oriented formats, and deducing who is likely to sneak up draft boards before next August can never be started too early. As we sit back and enjoy some excellent NFL playoff action, let's also look ahead at some names that could be sneaky good fantasy sleepers on the IDP side of things. As it is very early in the ‘offseason,' we'll sprinkle in a few names at each defensive alignment and examine their fantasy appeal for the 2013 season. Don Carey, FS, Detroit: The Lions brought Carey on board in early November to help bolster a secondary beset by injuries and he produced some very nice totals down the stretch. He finished the season with 39 total tackles and a pair of interceptions while appearing in nine games. He was solid in run support and surprisingly effective in coverage with five passes defensed and allowed the Lions to release veteran safety Erik Coleman during the season. Carey recently signed a one-year, $630,000 contract extension and is thought to be slotted into a reserve and special teams role for 2013. Louis Delmas has trouble staying healthy and is a free agent who may not be brought back, and the rest of the Detroit safeties are a motley group in disarray. Keep Carey in mind late in fantasy drafts as a stash with nice upside. Nigel Bradham, SLB, Buffalo: Bradham stepped in Week 6 to replace Arthur Moats at the SLB position for Buffalo and looks to have cemented a starting gig heading into 2013. His Week 17 total of 11 combined stops helped him reach 57 for the season along with a pass defended. The entire Bills defense played much better as the season progressed and Bradham led the way. He also produced his numbers in limited playing time as the rookie out of Florida State averaged only 30 snaps a game, leaving the field when the Bills employed their nickel package. He was a solid compliment to veteran WLB Nick ...
