Fleener notched two catches on three targets for 30 yards in Saturday's 31-24 win over the Bucs.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran tight end turned in another modest outing, as Brandin Cooks and Michael Thomas led the way for the Saints' pass catchers on the afternoon. Fleener has now seen three targets in three straight games, and has only five catches over that span. He's failed to score since Week 11 against the Panthers as well, making him an uninspiring option in Week 17 against the Falcons.

Fleener caught two of three targets for 10 yards in Sunday's win over Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
Passes were flying all over the place on Sunday, but for the second consecutive week Fleener was often on the outside looking in on the action. The free-agent acquisition has stretched the field at times for the Saints, but has been held under 50 yards receiving in seven out of his last nine outings. Though he's been targeted in the red zone 12 times during that span, he's come away with just one score.

Fleener caught one pass on three targets for six yards in Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers.
EDGE Analysis
Just when owners thought they could start trusting the athletic tight end, Fleener lays an egg at the worst possible time. With Josh Hill out for the rest of the season, Fleener should continue to see ample playing time, but inconsistency has been his bugaboo in a forgettable first season in New Orleans. Things likely will not get easier in Week 15 against an Arizona defense that has stymied tight ends all season.

With tight end Josh Hill suffering a broken right fibula in Week 13, Fleener could be in line for increased snaps. Fleener caught five passes for 86 yards during Sunday's loss to the Lions.
EDGE Analysis
Fleener had been splitting snaps with Hill since Hill's return from injury in Week 6. Hill, however, is now likely out for the rest of the season. While blocking tight end John Phillips may see some additional playing time -- he played 19 snaps on Sunday -- Fleener should be the primary beneficiary, as he will likely see an increase in playing time with Hill out of the picture.

Fleener hauled in five of seven passes for 86 yards during Sunday's defeat to the Lions.
EDGE Analysis
Fleener truly benefited when the Saints' mindset turned from balance to dominated by the pass. The impetus was an inability to whittle down the Lions' lead as the second half proceeded, especially after falling behind 19-6 near the end of the third quarter. On New Orleans' ensuing possession, Drew Brees kicked it off with a 31-yard hookup with Fleener, his second of the contest at that point. Among Fleener's five receptions overall, two went for 20-plus yards, marking the ninth and 10th such grabs of the season for the tight end. While the Saints under Brees will always lean toward the pass, his want to spread the wealth doesn't equate to consistency for his weapons on a weekly basis, as evidenced by one touchdown for Fleener over the last seven games and one 100-yard outing on the campaign.

Fleener caught all four of his targets for 59 yards in Sunday's win against the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
Fleener made a couple of nice catches in this one, including a 31-yard grab deep over the middle in the second quarter. Still, Fleener only played on 18 of the Saints' 74 offensive snaps (24 percent), according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, whereas tight end Josh Hill led the position with 58 snaps (78 percent). Normally, a high snap total for Hill is reflective of the Saints running well, which they did Sunday, but he also added six catches for 74 yards, both of which are career highs. While Fleener was likewise productive, he continues to lose playing time to Hill, a troubling trend for his fantasy owners. Fleener remains the more dangerous receiving threat between the two options, which gives him upside in the Saints' explosive offense, but until his snap count rises, Fleener will remain a high-risk player in most fantasy leagues.

Fleener gathered in three of five targets for 17 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 23-20 loss to the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Fleener salvaged his otherwise dismal day with a late fourth-quarter touchdown that brought the Saints within a field goal. The veteran has now tallied three catches or less in four of the last five games, and under 50 yards in all of those contests. At this point in the season, it's clear that Fleener is a hit-or-miss prospect week in and week out, with the general unpredictability of the Saints passing game only serving to augment the tight end's own inconsistent play.

Fleener caught two passes on two targets for 26 yards in Sunday's loss to the Broncos.
EDGE Analysis
Fleener played 32 of the Saints' 51 offensive snaps (63 percent), according to Josh Katzenstein of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, but had only minimal impact. He has not had more than 45 receiving yards in a game since Week 6 -- a stretch which has coincided with the return of tight end Josh Hill to the Saints' lineup. While Fleener remains the preferred receiving tight end, the Saints continue to split snaps between Hill (26 snaps in Week 10) and Fleener. Head coach Sean Payton likes to use his tight ends in the passing game, so it's reasonable to expect that the athletic Fleener will still have some big games in the second half, but inconsistency will likely continue to be an issue. The Saints next play on Thursday versus the Panthers, a team against which Fleener had six catches for 74 yards and a touchdown earlier this year.

Fleener caught three passes on six targets for 42 yards in Sunday's win against the 49ers.
EDGE Analysis
Fleener could have had a much bigger day, as he was brought down twice inside the San Francisco 5-yard line on red-zone receptions and was unable to haul in another short pass at the goal line. Meanwhile, tight end Josh Hill made four grabs for 40 yards, though most of his yards came on a wide-open 32-yard catch when the Saints fooled the 49ers defense. While it is clear that the Saints intend to use both Fleener and Hill, Fleener remains the preferred receiving option between the two, which gives him more weekly upside with the Saints' offense clicking right now.

Fleener caught four passes for 36 yards against the Seahawks on Sunday, but he played only 26 of the Saints' 76 offensive snaps, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
EDGE Analysis
Fleener's snap count was his lowest of the season. Meanwhile, tight end Josh Hill played 61 snaps for New Orleans. Seattle does a good job guarding tight ends, and Hill is the better blocker of the two tight ends. With the Saints deploying a conservative offensive approach against a physical Seattle defense, it makes sense that Fleener's playing time was curtailed in this one. However, Fleener's fantasy stock is trending in the wrong direction. Fleener still has plenty of upside in the Saints' tight end-friendly offense and he should continue to be more heavily involved in the passing offense than Hill -- who had only one target on Sunday -- but the downward trend in playing time has to be troubling for his fantasy owners.
