The Titans have signed Gates to a futures contract, Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports. Gates' last regular season catch was in 2013, when he was with the Jets. He'll provide the Titans with added depth at wideout in advance of the 2015 campaign.

Jets placed WR Clyde Gates on injured reserve with a shoulder injury, ending his season. Gates separated his left shoulder in Sunday's loss. Injuries in the Jets' receiver corps had forced the third-year speedster into heavy snaps (140), but predictably, he caught only 12 passes in six games. He committed three drops in the process. Gates is not an effective NFL player, but he's signed through 2014 in New York.

Jets WR Clyde Gates caught five balls for 36 yards in Sunday's Week 6 loss to Pittsburgh. Gates is serving as the Jets' No. 3 receiver behind Stephen Hill and Jeremy Kerley during Santonio Holmes' (hamstring) absence. Gates has no fantasy value.

Forced into heavy snaps - and eight targets - with Jeremy Kerley (concussion) sidelined, Gates turned in a brutal, drop-filled performance. It was the kind of night that makes you question (again) why he's still on an NFL roster. Gates won't make it through the year in New York if he continues to play like he did Thursday.

Jets WR Clyde Gates has been "one of the stars of camp" so far. It's becoming an annual tradition for Gates to star in training camp and then flame out when it counts. Those 4.37 wheels aren't nearly as effective when the hitting goes live. Gates is a good bet to stick on the final roster thanks to Santonio Holmes' foot woes, but he's just a weak situational deep threat.

Clyde Gates caught three passes for a team-leading 65 yards in New York's Week 16 loss to the Chargers. Today was just the second time all year Gates cleared 30 yards. Whether or not the former fourth-round pick is back with the Jets next season will depend on if GM Mike Tannenbaum is retained.

Clyde Gates (concussion) returned to a limited practice on Saturday and is officially listed as questionable for Week 15 on Monday night versus the Titans. Gates did not practice at all on Thursday or Friday and hasn't played at all since Thanksgiving night against the Patriots. The speedy receiver still has to pass another concussion test, though, so he'll be a game-time decision. Gates isn't a fantasy option.

The Jets will hope for no butt-fumbles this week. If another one occurs against the Cardinals and injures Mark Sanchez, they'd have to turn to Greg McElroy.
