Shorts (hamstring) caught one of three targets for five yards in Saturday's 30-0 loss to Kansas City in the wild-card round of the playoffs. He and fellow wideout Nate Washington combined for just two catches and eight yards in the loss, but most of that can be attributed to the poor play of quarterback Brian Hoyers.
EDGE Analysis
Shorts was third on the Texans in targets (75), receptions (42) and yards (484), but had some difficulty staying on the field while dealing with hamstring and shoulder injuries. Shorts can be retained by the Texans for the 2016 season, but there might be a push to give Jaelen Strong a more prominent role. The team's first priority is figuring out their quarterback situation, which will obviously impact Shorts' value next season.

Shorts (hamstring) is active for Saturday's Wild Card game versus the Chiefs.
EDGE Analysis
The Texans will have its entire receiving corps intact -- also, DeAndre Hopkins (hand) and Nate Washington (hip) -- but Shorts is returning from a two-game absence to face the ninth-ranked pass defense, a combination which may not yield the desired results in the box score.

Shorts (hamstring) is listed as probable for Saturday's game against the Chiefs.
EDGE Analysis
As is Nate Washington, which sets the stage for both players to be available Saturday to combo up with top wideout DeAndre Hopkins in the Texans' passing game in the team's playoff opener.

Shorts (hamstring) practiced fully Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
More on Shorts' status Friday, but assuming no issues with his hamstring following a full practice Thursday, he's trending toward a probable designation for Saturday's playoff tilt against the Chiefs.

Coach Bill O'Brien relayed Monday that Shorts (hamstring) "has a chance" to play in Saturday's playoff game against the Chiefs.
EDGE Analysis
While O'Brien fell short of declaring that he expects Shorts to play this weekend, the wideout -- who has been out since suffering his latest injury back in Week 15 -- has a chance to return to the Texans' lineup, with fellow receiver Nate Washington considered "day-to-day" with a hip injury.

Shorts (hamstring) is expected to play in Saturday's playoff game against the Chiefs, ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shorts missed the Texans' final two regular season games due to injury, but should be ready when the postseason starts this weekend. In making his first career playoff appearance, Shorts figures to mix in with teammates Nate Washington and Jaelen Strong to complement top wideout DeAndre Hopkins in the Texans' passing game.

Shorts (hamstring) won't play Sunday against the Jaguars.
EDGE Analysis
With Shorts out again this week, Nate Washington and Jaelen Strong are candidates for added looks in the Texans' passing attack Sunday behind top wideout DeAndre Hopkins.

Texans head coach Bill O'Brien said Shorts (groin) will not be ready for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, ESPN's Tania Ganguli reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Shorts expected to miss a second straight week, Jaelen Strong will likely have another chance to fill in as the No. 3 wide receiver. There's very, very little chance that the result of the Houston-Jacksonville game will actually have any impact on the playoff picture, but the Texans are still expected to play their starters to be safe. It's unclear if Shorts has a real shot to return for the opening round of the playoffs.

Shorts (groin) won't play Sunday against the Titans.
EDGE Analysis
With Shorts out this week, Nate Washington and Jaelen Strong are candidates for added looks in the Texans' Week 16 passing attack behind DeAndre Hopkins, the team's No. 1 wideout.

Shorts (groin) did not practice Wednesday, ESPN's Tania Ganguli reports.
EDGE Analysis
With that in mind, coach Bill O'Brien acknowledged that he doesn't think Shorts will be available for Sunday's game against the Titans. In such a scenario, Nate Washington and/or Jaelen Strong would be candidates for added looks in the Texans' Week 16 passing game behind top wideout DeAndre Hopkins.
