Vikings placed CB Captain Munnerlyn (hamstring) on the active/PUP list. Joining him there are TE Chase Ford and S Andrew Sendejo. Munnerlyn isn't expected to be out long after tweaking his hamstring. We'll consider him day-to-day. Munnerlyn will start opposite Xavier Rhodes in the base defense, and likely shift to the slot in sub-packages. He inked a three-year deal in March.

Vikings signed CB Captain Munnerlyn to a three-year contract with a max value of $15 million. Munnerlyn is obviously stretched outside at 5-foot-8 and 195 pounds, but he's one of the best slot corners in the game. Still only 26 -- he turns next month -- Munnerlyn turned in a breakout 2013 campaign as a 16-game starter, setting career highs in tackles (74), sacks (3.5), and pass breakups (12). He has four pick sixes over the past two seasons. Look for Munnerlyn to start outside on early downs and cover the slot in Mike Zimmer's nickel package.

The Panthers have yet to make a contract offer to free agent Captain Munnerlyn. The Panthers are either perfectly content to let Munnerlyn walk, or let the market establish his value, as they did in 2013. Munnerlyn has visits lined up with the Vikings, Bucs and Jets, and appears unlikely to return to Carolina.

The Charlotte Observer reports free agent CB Captain Munnerlyn will visit the Jets and Bucs after the Vikings. That's if Munnerlyn gets away from the Vikings, who are in dire need of cornerback help -- especially a nickel corner like Munnerlyn. With a number of the top corners off the market, guys like Munnerlyn should start getting more play.

The Jets have inquired about free agent CB Captain Munnerlyn. With Darrelle Revis in Tampa and Antonio Cromartie on the street, a position of strength has become a position of need for Rex Ryan. The Jets appear ready to open up their wallets, as they've also been linked to Alterraun Verner.

Free agent CB Captain Munnerlyn is expected to reach free agency. Munnerlyn is coming off a career year, but the cap-strapped Panthers are going to let the market dictate his value. Reporter Joseph Person believes he could ultimately re-sign with Carolina on a team-friendly deal. Munnerlyn was an every-down player in 2013, but kicked inside in nickel packages.

ESPN.com's Mike Triplett lists free agent CB Captain Munnerlyn as a possible target of the Saints. The Saints are in need of a No. 2 corner behind Keenan Lewis and could look to steal away Munnerlyn from the Panthers. New Orleans currently lacks depth at cornerback after cutting Jabari Greer and may still release Patrick Robinson as a salary-cap casualty. Munnerlyn is expected to begin contract talks with Carolina at the Combine next week and could be re-signed before free agency.

Free agent CB Captain Munnerlyn says his agent is scheduled to meet with team officials at the combine next week. Munnerlyn was the best player in Carolina's defensive backfield in 2013, playing in all 16 games and grading out as PFF's No. 11 corner. He figures to be seeking a multi-year deal after playing last season on a one-year contract and could be re-signed before testing free agency. The Panthers are also expected to make re-signing FS Mike Mitchell a priority this offseason.

Impending free agent CB Captain Munnerlyn said he'd be open to a one-year deal from the Panthers if the price is right. The Carolinas are home for Munnerlyn as he played his college ball at South Carolina and then was drafted by the Panthers in the seventh round of the 2009 draft. He finally put it all together this season, starting every game and grading out as PFF's No. 11 corner while playing on a one-year, $1.1 million contract. Munnerlyn needs to strike while the iron is hot, so don't expect his agent to be giving out any hometown discounts.
