Ellington (quadriceps) is listed as active Sunday at San Francisco, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Held out Week 7 due to a quad injury, Ellington followed up the Cardinals' bye with three limited practices. The activity was enough to clear him for his first action since Week 6, but the presence of Adrian Peterson clouds any potential contribution on the ground. Having said that, Ellington should serve as a safety valve for Drew Stanton in the passing attack in place of Carson Palmer (arm).

Ellington (quadriceps), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers, will play in the contest, a source informed Adam Schefter of ESPN.
EDGE Analysis
Ellington missed the Cardinals' last game in Week 7 against the Rams, but with a bye week to heal up from the quad injury, it looks as though the running back will be ready to go Sunday. Though the Oct. 10 acquisition of Adrian Peterson has resulted in fewer snaps and carries for Ellington, the Clemson product still ranks as head coach Bruce Arians' preferred pass catcher out of the backfield. That may allow Ellington to retain some appeal in deeper PPR settings, but it may be hard to justify rostering him elsewhere.

Ellington (quadriceps) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Mike Jurecki of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports.
EDGE Analysis
For the third consecutive day, Ellington was a limited participant at practice Friday, resulting him retaining a questionable designation for the Cardinals' second game in a row. With the team coming off a bye to give the veteran running back an additional week to heal up from the injury, Ellington's chances of playing Sunday would appear much greater than in the Week 7 game against the Rams, for which he was inactive. Ellington won't be in store for a major role behind lead back Adrian Peterson if he's active this time around.

Ellington (quadriceps) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Kyle Odegard of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ellington was also limited during the Cardinals' first practice of the week Wednesday, but the expectation remains that he'll be able to suit up Sunday against San Francisco with Arizona coming off a bye. Even if that's the case, Ellington isn't expected to see much work outside of obvious passing downs, as Cardinals offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin implied that the team intends to lean heavily on an Adrian Peterson-led ground game in Week 9 with Drew Stanton set to make his first start of season in place of the injured Carson Palmer (arm).

Ellington (quadriceps) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Absent from the Cardinals' last game Oct. 22 versus the Rams in London, Ellington hasn't been able to ditch his quad injury, despite having a Week 8 bye to focus entirely on rehabilitation. He's proved susceptible to absences throughout four-plus years in the NFL, so his status will be one to watch as the week continues. No matter if he's able to suit up Sunday at San Francisco, Adrian Peterson is expected to receive most of the snaps out of the backfield, keeping Ellington and the remaining running backs in the shadows.

Ellington (quadriceps) is listed as inactive Sunday against the Rams in London, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the Cardinals' bye on tap in Week 8, Ellington will be handed three whole weeks to recover from his bout with an injured quad. None of the team's other running backs are accomplished pass catchers, meaning Adrian Peterson should only leave the field in order to get the occasional breather from Kerwynn Williams and Elijhaa Penny.

Ellington (quadriceps) is not expected to play Sunday against the Rams in London, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ellington didn't practice all week, but is listed as questionable on the official injury report. Given that he also didn't get any touches in Adrian Peterson's team debut in Week 6, he looks too risky of an option.

Ellington (quadriceps) didn't practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams in London, Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ellington was held out of practice all week, but Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said Friday that he thinks the veteran will be able to play. While he didn't get any touches in Adrian Peterson's Cardinals debut, Ellington could re-emerge as a PPR factor if Arizona struggles to run the ball or is forced into catch-up mode Sunday. Given that the quad injury is also a factor, Ellington belongs on the bench or waiver wire in most leagues.

Coach Bruce Arians said Friday that he thinks Ellington (quadriceps) will be able to play Sunday against the Rams, Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite the show of confidence, Ellington wasn't spotted at Friday's practice, so there's still some reason to believe that he'll be a game-time decision. On top of that, the recent addition of Adrian Peterson to Arizona's backfield has made Ellington mostly suitable for just PPR formats. Sunday's game is taking place in London, but unlike the other London matchups previously this season, kickoff will happen at the normal time of 1:00 PM EDT.

Ellington (quadriceps) was held out of Thursday's practice, Mike Jurecki of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ellington had been limited in the Cardinals' first practice of the week Wednesday, so his downgrade to not participating Thursday isn't the most reassuring sign that he'll be healthy enough to suit up Sunday against the Rams. His health notwithstanding, Ellington's fantasy value has seemed to plateau with the newly acquired Adrian Peterson having taken over as the Cardinals' top ball carrier, effectively closing any window Ellington had for seeing involvement in the ground game while David Johnson (wrist) remains on injured reserve. Ellington, who has registered nine catches in each of the Cardinals' past two contests, will still retain relevancy in PPR settings, however.
